Astrological Forecast for May With a Taurus New Moon and a Scorpio Full Moon

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

In April and on May 1 Earth Day was celebrated all over the earth, paying homage to Mother Earth who is giving us life and sustains us. It was a reminder to set our priorities straight and to stop keeping spoiling our own nest. It is not easy these days to live on planet earth.

In a time where you are bombarded with bad news of a possible government shutdown, furlongs, economical and political crisis every day through the media it is essential to find a way to balance your inner emotions in order to not slide down into depression and anxiety.

I personally feel the need to empower myself with an inner attitude which is empowering without ignoring what is. We are living in a time of major crisis in our political landscape all over the world, the poor are getting even poorer and the rich are getting richer. The dollar slides down the drain and more money is printed to stuff the holes. We are sitting on a volcano.

We Will Not Give Up

I have commented about the bigger astrological picture accompanying the current and coming state of affairs. Two outer planets have been moving into a new sign signaling significant transformation in the collective consciousness: Uranus into Aries and Neptune into his own sign Pisces. Also we are having 7 exact squares between Uranus and Pluto till 2015 with a rather explosive potential.

No doubt about it, the Aquarian age with its revolutions is here. We have not had many quiet revolutions happening on this planet. Most of the time revolution means bloodshed and tears for many. But there are exceptions! Remember- the Berlin Wall in Germany came down peacefully in November 1989. After 28 years of oppression that was a miracle. The time was just ripe and too many people were not willing to put up with the communist regiment in Eastern Germany any more. This is the power of the people!

Achieving an Ecological Consciousness

Raising your awareness for a responsible interaction with the environment and for the ecology is the subject of the month with the New Moon in Taurus and Full Moon in Scorpio.

When I talk about the power of us, the people, I mean the freedom to educate ourselves and to be willing to take serious steps to implement new ways of behavior. There are many things you can do. Your buying power is speaking the most direct language. Consider to put solar cells on your roof and contribute energy instead of just using it. There are many things you could do to make your point like buying organic produce, making your home green with energy saving measures, supporting Fair Trade, lowering your gas mileage with a car which is based in renewable Green technology and you will have a big impact.

Make the effort and recycle that is truly something you can do easily. Take a shopping bag with you into the store instead of using more plastic or paper bags. By throwing out less of the stuff you don’t need anymore but passing it on to somebody in need or just the next thrift store, power is in your hands.

After the nuclear catastrophe in Japan the German government was under so much public pressure they decided to get out of nuclear energy by 2020. The new technologies of earth, solar and wind energy will be developed enough to take over the needs of a highly industrialized country like Germany by 2020. A beneficial side effect is the boost the German economy will receive by exporting these techniques into other countries with German proficiency and know how.

New Moon in Taurus Ripens into the Full Moon in Scorpio

One of the universal laws is that you always reap what you have sown. If you put a sunflower seed into the ground you will get a sunflower and not a cucumber. It sounds simple and logical don’t you think?

Following the Lunar cycle will give you insight into what you have the chance to seed successfully with the New Moon and the awareness of how it turned out for you with the Full Moon. This month the New Moon brings your individual resources and financial situation into focus. Taurus is down to earth; practical minded and deeply connected with Mother Nature. Taurus loves beautiful things and experiences the world through his senses. He likes his comforts and needs to feel secure and safe.

The Full Moon in Scorpio wants the truth and is willing to prune and weed out accordingly. The Full Moon sheds light into what we started at the New Moon in Taurus. Both Taurus and Scorpio deal with money. Taurus is very personally motivated around that subject; Scorpio might deal more with other people’s money and earth resources.

You might want to consider investing in gold, a true financial safe haven as a way to combat inflation and make some money with your investment. We have been following the gold expert Sinclair for many years now and he has been right on with his gold predictions and info about the bigger economical picture.

Around the subject of money there is a high sensitivity because it is so tightly connected with our survival. Sometimes we forget that if we do what we truly love the money will follow. The seeds you put into the ground are your unique talents and gifts you can barter with. The big success stories of the world of people like Bill Gates, Tony Robbins or Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook) have been people who have been doing just that; they have been following their passion.

You want to get clear about your talents and passions and the universe will present coincidences to you to help you along your way.

Let us have a look at the specifics of this month:

•    New Moon in Taurus May 2
•    Mars enters Taurus May11
•    Mercury and Venus follow into Taurus May 15
•    Full Moon in Scorpio May 17
•    Sun steps into Gemini May 21
•    Venus and Mars conjunction May 23
•    Sun Square to Neptune May 22
•    Sun Square to Chiron May 26

Planets in Taurus

The Taurus energy is strong this month with the New Moon, Mars, Mercury and Venus stepping into this earthly sign. It is an invitation to reconnect with planet earth, to be grateful for the bounty we receive and celebrate the joys of having a body. Taurus, the settler evolves out of the sign of Aries, the pioneer. Taurus has the ability to substantiate with an eye to the practical application of ideas.

The lovers Mars and Venus are highly sensual and sexual beings in Taurus. The ancient ritual of Maypole dancing falls into the midpoint between spring and summer and signifies renewal and fertility, the union between the feminine and the masculine principles.

Sun Moves into Gemini

Towards the end of the month the Sun steps into the light hearted more mentally oriented energy of Gemini. Geminis are the butterflies in the zodiac, always moving on from one thought or idea to the next, always interested and eternally young in their mind. Because of that there is a youthful openness and interest in life available to you.

When the Sun squares Neptune you can be sidetracked by confusion or mental fog. Or you can take time allowing yourself to dream and just be. Smelling the roses, meditating under the stars, walking along the ocean or in the forest are all ways to slow down that monkey mind and relax into a higher state of consciousness.

Sun squaring Chiron sensitizes you to wounds and hurts in connection with your self-esteem and how you think others perceive you. Remember that only if you speak your inner truth and show up as an authentic person others can truly relate to you.

I hope you will have a wonderful month, aloha and many blessings, Shakti.

Super Moon & Uranus Entering Aries Seem to Be Responsible for the Earth Quake Disaster in Japan

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

The world is holding its breath and praying for a miracle. Our hearts are wide open and we feel ourselves truly living in a global village. We feel helpless and under the waters emotionally. We are all one and connected inside and of course we will be impacted by fear and depression circling around the planet. What can we do?

For now we can only hold our head over water, do one step after the other. We can help the Japanese through our prayers and with money. Every dollar counts and Google has set up a link on their home page to the Red Cross to make it easy for people.
I am deeply impressed by the Japanese nature of calm and self-discipline to deal with the current situation. I think we can all learn from that; it is the best attitude to deal effectively with disasters.

What has happened astrologically?

The Super Moon

Right now the Moon is in the Waxing Crescent phase heading towards the Full Moon in Virgo on Saturday March 19. It is a so called an extreme Super Moon or lunar perigree because once in 18 years the Moon will pass by the closest on her path around the earth. We know about the waxing and waning Moon influencing the tides so there might be a connection.
A similar situation with a Super Moon and earth quakes occurred in Indonesia. An article in Business Insider pointed out that “the last Super Moon occurred a few days after the 8.9 earthquake in Indonesia” in 2005.

Divination astrologers have been predicting that this extreme Super Moon might bring strong earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, storms and other disasters. I don’t believe in dwelling on all the potential catastrophes that can happen with a specific astrological constellation. Looking backward it is always easy to say this and that is the reason for what happened.

I am more interested to use astrology in the personal field where I can help my clients to prepare and have better choices with the application of the potential of astrology in their personal lives. And of course we are all impacted by these big constellations in a very personal way and need to deal with it the best we can. Consciousness is the key!

The well-known astrologer Jeff Jawer, who writes for dailyhoroscope.com, wrote: “This Super Moon happens the day before the Spring Equinox as the Sun enters Aries on March 20 and joins electrifying Uranus there on the 21st, which is more than enough astrological noise to create all kinds of chaos. Discerning the different influence of this explosive astrological event and the so-called Super Moon won’t be easy.”

Uranus Entered Aries on Friday

When a slow, outer planet changes sign it is always noticeable as we are confronted with a whole new set of principles and representations of it. Very close to the earth quake in Japan Uranus changed sign after his stay in Pisces for 7 years. Uranus is known for sudden eruption, change and sudden surprises. Aries is a fire sign and stands for new beginnings. You could call this combination very volatile and challenging. We can see it playing out not only with the earth quake but also with the wave of revolution igniting all over the world.

Also Sun will be entering Aries and the spring equinox is here; both are symbolizing the beginning of a new cycle of evolution. (See for specific dates and info my monthly overview)

Where Does It Leave Us?

It leaves us with a sense of vulnerability and helplessness; both emotions which are difficult to experience. Whenever we feel out of control we might start doing something we can control to feel better. This morning I was considering cleaning out my totally overstuffed book closet which has been waiting for my attention for a long time. At least that is something useful I can do. I ended up writing this article and I might still move on to the closet…

It also leaves me with an open heart and the willingness to help and contribute to others in more dire straits. That is the high road to walk and cooperation is the only way to do the best for most people.

I am a member of the Community Emergency Response Team here on Maui. I am always concerned about people’s preparedness for disaster sitting on a hot spot like we do here. We are vulnerable to earth quakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes as well as volcano eruptions. We were lucky that the Japanese tsunami didn’t do too much damage to our island. In a disaster scenario there will be a time lag till any kind of official or international help will arrive. This is something you can prepare yourself for.

What You Can Do

As I have said before every household should have a minimum of water and non perishable food supplies for a week no matter where you live. The unexpected happens as we are just being taught.

If you live in a hot spot you should have an emergency bag packed with the essentials in case you have to leave your house to go to a shelter. You want to consider water, food, medicine you are on, clothes, underwear, books and games to help spend time. Nowadays you are allowed to bring your animal companions to the shelters but you need your cat or small dog in a carrier or leashed of course. Plan for their food as well!

Keep your intention on a solution for the Japanese reactors, pray for divine intervention and support on all levels of the universe. Take a look at your life and don’t sweat the small stuff. Realize how blessed you are with family and friends: things that truly matter.

I am sending you love and many blessings, Shakti.

How the March Astrology with the Vernal Equinox Sets the Tone for the Astrological Year to Come

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

How have you weathered the last month with all the Aquarian energies in the air? Were the patterns in your life interrupted in some ways? Is change still in the air for you? In which of your houses was this major accumulation of planets playing out? This is one way how you learn astrology by applying the information to your natal chart and see what it does to you.

For me all those planets were in the eleventh house hitting my Moon conjunct Chiron in Aquarius. I enjoyed doing astrological readings helping people to understand the bigger picture and how it impacts and plays out in the smaller frame work of a personal life. It is very satisfying work and I am meeting wonderful people of all walks of life from around the globe through Skype which is how the Moon played out.

Chiron, the wounded healer was activated for me and I had even more health challenges then usual to deal with. In general I felt easily irritated and all over the place. But also many new ideas in connection with my astrological practice and blog surfaced and it will take some time to implement and manifest. So for me it was a mixed bag!

Times of Change

We are living in tumultuous times which is reflected everywhere in the world especially in hot spots like the Middle East. Last month I wrote that with 6 planets in Aquarius, the water bearer is setting out to nourish and water the seeds of change. “This can happen through sudden changes, interruptions of continuity and rebellion or riots as we are seeing in Egypt right now. I would not be surprised to see more instability and destruction happening in explosive expressions all over the world this month. “

Even with all the revolutionary impulses and even victories like we have seen in Egypt this is just the beginning. Brace yourself for more. The highlights of this month are:

•    North Node in Sagittarius March 3
•    New Moon in Pisces March 4
•    Mercury Marches into Aries March 9
•    Uranus Shoots into Aries March 12
•    Virgo Full Moon in Opposition to Uranus March 19
•    Sun Steps into Aries March 20 & Marks the Vernal Equinox
•    Sun Uranus Conjunction in Aries
•    Jupiter Opposition Saturn March 28
•    Sun Square to Pluto March 28
•    Venus Graces Aquarius March 2 & Pisces March 27

On March 11 Uranus is returning for good into Aries after a short stint in it already last year from May 27 to August 12. This will set a whole new tone of impatience and anger with the ruling structures and can lead to war like situations. Then with Mercury and Sun also entering Aries in conjunction with Uranus the flames of revolution will be dancing wildly. Also next year we will start into the series of 5 squares of Uranus to Pluto 2012 continuing into 2015. Remember the sixties when we had a Pluto Uranus conjunction which started the whole process of societal changes.

North Node into Sagittarius March 3

The North Node of the Moon is symbolizing your karmic destiny and future you are striving for releasing the old shadows and inhibitions of the past. It always moves retrograde and for the next 18 month we will have a little easier time then we had with the North Node in Capricorn. Now we have to expand into new beliefs and horizons, reconnect with the divine in all of us, find time to learn and study and take advantage of the general supportive energy connected with our dreams and ambitions.

New Moon in Pisces March 4

The New Moon always is the start into a new cycle of inner growth and deeper connection to your inner world depending on the sign it is happening in. With Pisces there will be the potential of new dreams of a better world as well as the potential of grief or loss. The New Moon in Pisces is a very gentle soul completing one circle of evolution.

Mercury Marches into Aries March 9

Mercury in Aries is bringing radical thoughts, not much room for compromises and impatience. Our will power will be enhanced and we can take courageous steps into new ventures and projects.

Uranus Shots into Aries March 12

This will start a new era of radical changes in society with new ideas and unprecedented scientific discoveries throughout the next 7 years. This carries a certain roughness with the revolutionary Uranus becoming a warrior in Aries.

You want to have a closer look at your chart and where it happens there and which planets and house are activated. This is how you personally have to face the dragon and do your personal work.

Virgo Full Moon in Opposition to Uranus March 19

The Full Moon represents the fullest light reflecting your innermost process related to Virgo matters. The Full Moon in Virgo invites you to reflect on your inner feeling of self value and how you are able to skillfully contribute to people around you. It is a reminder for proper self care for the whole system of body, mind and soul.

Sun Steps into Aries March 20 & Marks the Vernal Equinox

The Sun carries the spirit of the courageous warrior and pioneer in Aries. It also marks the beginning of the vernal equinox in the northern hemisphere of the planet. A new astrological year is starting and with that another round and the potential of learning and implementing your highest potentials.

Sun Uranus Conjunction in Aries March 20

The Sun’s conjunction with Uranus is foreshadowing an astrological year with major changes and sudden eruptions. Grass root movements will gain strength and importance but it is not an easy road traveled. Rebellion and riots all over the world will incite deep changes.

Jupiter Opposition Saturn March 28

Jupiter is completing his last opposition with Saturn and with that is establishing a new framework of shaping individual ambitions and collective social goals. A fresh bigger picture evolves.

Sun Square to Pluto March 28

The already prickly Sun in Aries will be receiving plutonian Energy with a square. We need to learn how to let go of the old and be deeply honest with ourselves. That will guide us to deeper self-realization and commitment to take the necessary steps.

Venus Graces Aquarius March 2 & Pisces March 27

And thank God for Venus and her heart oriented influence and love for balance and beauty. In Aquarius she wants us to find like minded soul and friends to truly make a difference in our lives. In Pisces she opens the heart to unconditional love and the deep inner knowledge of our true oneness.

This is the spirit you need to nurture to do well in these turbulent times because what unites us will make us stronger. We can be of tremendous help for each other in small and big ways with family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances in our lives. We can make a difference in the world and that starts with each one of us. You are holding tremendous power in your hands and in this challenging time you are called to use it.

I hope you enjoyed this article, aloha and many blessings, Shakti.

A Virgo New Moon Teams Up with Mercury

Monday, September 6th, 2010
Share Button

The New Moon and Full Moon events are often thought as almost magical points in the evolution of the Moon throughout the month. Depending on their position in the zodiac sign they shed a specific light onto inner processes and give us a potentially different perspective. While the New Moon is the conclusion of one circle of energy it also opens up a new chapter.

With the Full Moon that new theme is fully exposed in the full light and moves towards the conclusion in the next New Moon. It is a beautiful dance of birthing, ripening and integration.

New Moon in Virgo September 8

And of course Full Moon and New Moon are always in opposing signs. The last Full Moon was in Pisces with an invitation to deepen our inner connection with the divine and strengthen our spiritual roots as well as confronting health issues, mysterious illnesses bases on toxicity and poison. Now with the New Moon in Virgo we are asked to come to a conclusion with the balance of the mundane and the spiritual in our lives. There is the need to use the logical mind of Virgo which is so finely tuned to details and skillful functioning in the physical world. It is important to find your place in the bigger scheme of things and contribute with your unique gifts only you have to share.

Virgo is very generous as a healer and good friend and feels best sharing his skills. A good time to ask yourself the questions:

•    What is my specific gift?
•    Am I generous with myself and others?
•    How do I contribute to life?
•    Where could I use more order in my life?
•    Do I have unfinished business I need to tend to?

If you read my article about the Full Moon in Pisces you remember the case I made to take responsibility for your own health into your own hands. This theme continues with the Sun and Mercury still in Virgo. Mercury is staying for almost 2 month in this health conscious sign instead of the usual 3 to 4 weeks.

The trine of this New Moon with Pluto in Capricorn helps you to see yourself clearer and inspires to take more responsibility for your body, the temple of the soul.

Retrograde Mercury Turning Direct Again September 12

The mythic messenger of the gods helps you to become more aware and conscious about your present condition and empowers you to make decisions and take appropriate action towards that goal. Sometimes you might feel overwhelmed by the magnitude of your goal and feel paralyzed to even get started. The trick is to chunk it down into smaller pieces and reward yourself along the way. If you already enjoy the process you don’t have to wait till the elusive reaching of the finishing line to feel good.

Loosing Weight with Virgo is Easier

For example if you want to loose weight, that is a big and often intimidating goal and often we do not believe that we are actually able to pull it off. You might have tried all kinds of diets or even fasting with no lasting results. Some of my middle age girl friends have given up and pacify themselves with saying it is all menopausal. Maybe what you need is a whole different and fresh approach? Maybe the hormones are only part of the picture? Maybe you have just accumulated so much toxicity in your body over the years that it shows up in middle age or even earlier?

If you want to loose weight and chunk it down into smaller pieces you might end up with a plan that says:

•    Educate yourself about the underlying causes for gaining weight (like storing toxins in your fat to keep the body functioning) I recommend Dr. Sherry Rogers books.
•    Determine your blood type and find out which is in general the appropriate and healthy diet for you (Blood Type Diet)
•    Check out your vitamin and mineral levels and determine your deficiencies (Metamatrix.com)
•    Check out your burden of heavy metals
•    Refrain from any kind of processed food for a month and see how you feel
•    Eat more raw fruits, vegetables, sea weeds and cooked whole grains
•    Half your sugar intake, use raw agave or honey instead
•    Acquire an Infra Red Sauna, speed up your metabolism to get toxins out and loose your fat layers
•    Do a regiment of colon cleanses or daily coffee enemas
•    Find a way to exercise in a way you actually like doing. Join a dance class, go for walks with your friends or your dog; find something that actually works for you.

Obviously this list can go on and on. I just want to inspire you to make your own and get started. After a while the momentum will carry you and you will feel so good that you will be more then motivated to keep it going. If you choose to reward yourself along the way you will enjoy the process even more. You could go and get a massage or do a little shopping and find something to beautify yourself and feel really good.

Jupiter Back into Pisces September 8

Also Jupiter backs into Pisces a few hours after the New Moon and will be there until January 2011, staying within 3 degrees of Uranus in Pisces. Optimistic Jupiter represents faith, expansion, wisdom and abundance but can go overboard into hubris and extravagance. Jupiter in Pisces invites us for deeper introspection into the hidden non physical realms, the more subtle dimensions shaping life. Thoughts are also non physical to begin with but they shape your life and become manifested into the physical realm.

You can find deep fulfillment and joy with this constellation if you allow yourself to slow down and find time to smell the roses, meditate and sit with a cup of tea and contemplate.

Venus Dives into Scorpio September 8

With Saturn in the relationship sign Libra we already have to take a deeper look at the dynamics in our relationships. With Venus now moving into Scorpio we might encounter some hidden layers of our needs and instinctual drive for survival, sex and power. Maybe somebody tries to dominate you or an overdue relationship resolves itself. Scorpio always forces us to be honest at least with ourselves about our true motivation of doing things.

The goddess of love asks you to be very honest about your primary relationship as well as your friends in general. When Mars is joining Venus in Scorpio next week there might be some fire works to deal with.

I believe it is crucial to discriminate with wisdom what you can impact and change in the part of the world that is within your reach. If you strive for your best lived life, keep transforming the world a little bit at a time you can be extremely powerful and a force for good. You are making a difference! Be the light you want to see in the world! Start with yourself and be as healthy and joyful as you can be!

I hope you enjoyed this article, aloha and many blessings, Shakti.
