How do you Deal with the Eternal Dynamic between Darkness and Light?

I could have not said this better! My friend Donna known also as Spirit has been sending me her Christmas and New Year letter I like you to read and enjoy. Spirit is a woman who has devoted her whole life to service and is a shining beacon of mind over matter because she has been severely ill for many years.

Aloha my Dearest Loves,

Every holiday that we celebrate at this time of year is about finding Light in the midst of Darkness — Christmas, Hanukkah, Solstice — They are each about hope in a time of deep hopelessness, guidance in a time of feeling lost, love in a time when we think we have been left out of the love…

The good news is that no amount of struggle or effort can make the Light return. It just returns inevitably. Light returns whether we’ve been “good” or “bad,” happy or sad.
Perhaps the true miracle of the holidays is that life is designed so that we continually return to Light… and that we continually return to Dark… and that each time we allow the cycle to unfold, we are upgraded. We are new. We become more of ourselves until finally there is no more duality. Just Oneness.

The holiday gift that we can give ourselves is to honor the dark, intense times that bring us to the next stage of wisdom and to honor the light times that brings us to the next stage of radiance. Perhaps this is the year that we stop bemoaning our terrible childhoods, stop thinking of ourselves as broken victims and realize that our souls knew (and still know) exactly what is needed to bring us to Wholeness… into Peace.

Here’s my advice.

*Don’t struggle to get away from the darkness. Don’t assume that you’ve done something wrong or that you are being punished by a vengeful God (parent).  Don’t create drama over having drama. Just observe. Just go behind the story to the Stillness.

*Don’t struggle to stay in the darkness because it has defined you for so long or because you think that’s the only way to get attention. Allow the old pattern to dissolve. Let yourself express All Possibility in each new moment… on each in-breath. Let the potential, the promise, unfold through your life.

*Remember the Buddhist teaching of “don’t reach and don’t recoil.”  Just be present, honoring the perfection of what is. As soon as you come to peace with whatever is bothering you, reality will shift. Accept the gift that is being offered. Every single situation is designed to show you where Love wants to flow.

Love want to flow to you and through you. May you be used by Love. There is no better gift.

Blessings and hugs. I miss you AND you are in my heart every moment of every day.

MELE KALIKIMAKA Means Merry Christmas in Hawaiian

Dear friends,

I got this beautiful poem from of my dear friend Katherine Ayers I like you to be able to enjoy. She is a beautiful lady who also shares her beauty through her art and I think it is so worth for you to have a look. She published a book called From Frozenness to Freedom where she shares her healing journey through painting, poetry and introspection.

It’s the first day of winter and the narcissus are in full bloom, the yellow and fuscia ice plants, orange daylilies and irises are thriving.   Even the wildflowers are coming up.
My dog, Rosie, likes to bury her bones in the garden, but hasn’t interfered with all the flower enthusiasm.

Happy solstice! It’s the first time since 1638 that we’ve had a total lunar eclipse at the same time.  I googled the astrological significance of this and apparently we have an opportunity to drop old patterns and be renewed.  Good news!   So, I wrote a poem about dying to the old.

Death is as near as my breath.
It surrounds me every moment,
impels me to transform
over and over and over again.

It pushes out the old debris
worn out beliefs
old ego identities
struggles I have with myself or others.

It melts disturbing and frozen imprints,
ideas and perspectives
about how I think life is.

Death gives me infinite ways
to be born again.

One day
this body will dissolve completely,
and I will vacate this sacred vessel,
which also lives and dies

Tough Economy and New Opportunities

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

I like to share this great article by Arjuna Ardagh because it puts s whole different spin on all the complaining most of us are doing about the whole mess of our economy. I am sure you will enjoy!

Sometimes it seems like all we hear these days is talk of the tough economy. I actually conducted a little sociological experiment this weekend, and counted up how many times I heard people refer to the economy, and therefore current times in general, in a negative way. I got 43 hits, even though I stayed home quite a bit.

There is, of course, some objective measurable truth to all of this depressing talk. If you own a house, it’s probably worth considerably less than it was five years ago. If you own a business, you may be making less money than you were, and you may have even been faced with the difficult decision of laying off some of your employees. If you’re an investor in the stock market, you may have seen your portfolio go down in value.

But not everybody these days is having a terrible time. I’ve conducted another little amateur sociological experiment over the last several weeks. I asked a lot of my colleagues: writers, teachers, seminar leaders, how they would evaluate their year so far, not just financially, but according to a broader spectrum of measurement. How are your relationships? How’s your creativity? How’s your health? How much are you living your deepest vision? I’m a member of two extraordinary mens’ groups, one where I live in Nevada City, and another that I travel to in Marin County, and I also asked this question at the recent meeting of the Transformational Leadership Council. More than half the people I asked told me that 2010 was proving to be their best year ever, myself included.

I hear people ask a lot on the blogosphere and in the media, “How long is this recession going to last? When are we going to go back to where we were?” Well, here’s a shocking question for you now. What if we never, ever, ever go back to where we were?  What if the old game is now coming to an end, and a whole different way of relating with each other financially and energetically is emerging?

Let’s cast our mind back for a moment to the early part of the twentieth century, and imagine that one of your ancestors was in the business of shoeing horses or making saddles. Looking at the increasing popularity of the motor car, your ancestor might have asked his friends and neighbors, “How long is this going to last? When will things go back to the way they were?” For someone completely immersed in anything to do with horses: shoeing them, building saddles for them, operating stables for them, cleaning up their poop from the road, those years would have looked like a tough economy. For Henry Ford, it was boom time. You can extrapolate what I just said in many ways. The 80’s were probably a terrible time for people involved in the gramophone record industry. The Great Depression in the 30’s, which hit not only  the United States but Europe as well, was a truly terrible time for most people but it was also the period when discount stores first got off the ground, and many other new things were born.

You get my point. Every area of decline is experienced by somebody as a period of growth, rebirth, and opportunity. I got really interested to ask myself, and other people like me who are experiencing that this is their best year ever, what are the keys to thriving in this new economy?

From interviews and conversations with these “thrivers” I’ve been able to identify twelve primary qualities of thriving in the new economy, as well as as many as 20 other sub-qualities. A lot of these qualities are really easy to understand and assimilate, starting today.

Over the next weeks, I’ll be offering a series of blog posts and free tele-seminars, with a series of expert guests, on how to thrive in the new economy. Here are the twelve primary themes that I’ll be elaborating on in the series, starting in a few weeks.

“Full Moon In Aquarius – July 25, 2010

This month’s Full Moon is in the sign of Aquarius, a fixed air sign.

Moon in Aquarius calls us to the circle, away from private concerns and intimacy reminding us of the sacredness of collaboration. We become deeply aware that what affects one, affects us all. It’s time to tend the web of community, to network, review our philosophy and find a way to walk our talk.

More About The Moon Phases

The Full Moon invites us to peer deeply into our emotional, intuitive selves as we direct our attention to manifesting the hopes, wishes and dreams that were seeded at the New Moon.

The Moon changes signs approximately every 2 ½ days, going through all twelve signs of the Zodiac every 29 ½ days. The sign that the Moon is in reflects qualities of your inner self and being-ness.

Each month there is at least one Full Moon that will rise at sunset and set at sunrise and is visible all night long from moonrise to moon set. Astrologically speaking this means that the Sun and the Moon are in opposition (opposite each other in the sky and in opposite signs of the zodiac.)

Learning to work in concert with the phases of the Moon is an excellent way to add structure to your life because you are not only connecting with Mother Nature through the Moon’s reflection of the Sun and the Earth, but with human nature and especially with feminine nature.

Aquarian Full Moon Musings

In honor of this month’s Full Moon in Aquarius I am going to guide you through an intuitive, healing, creative exploration into body, mind and soul so that together, we can shift, transform and heal each other and the planet during this time of great change and awakening.

Aquarian energy can be felt by tuning into the energy of the Full Moon that is passing through the astrological sign of Aquarius from July 25 – July 28, 2010.

Independence, detachment, contrariness, outsider perspectives, artistic ability, humane and altruistic behavior are all key Aquarian concepts that describe energy accessible to all of us right now.

Star Sapphire

One of my favorite ways to tap into these lunar energies is by attuning to gemstones and crystals, such as the Aquarian ruled gemstone, Sapphire. I begin by holding a small Sapphire in my left hand as I place it on my third eye along with a little help from a double terminated, Isis Lithium Quartz Crystal that I place at my feet while meditating. If you don’t have access to these stones you can work with their images instead.

A Sapphire Meditation

Allow your body to flood with joyful feelings of being-ness as you ask your heart to expand, expand, expand, inviting warmth and happiness into your energy field. Let steep for a few minutes and then say aloud:

“Today I reward myself with happiness.”

Now, envision an image that brings you sheer joy.

Next, you will focus your attention upon two Aquarian images, one is pictured below and the other at the very beginning of this article. Allow yourself to stretch, stretch, stretch – really push yourself! You are entering another world, yet you will remain connected with this one by placing your hand over your heart to feel your heart beating…”

The 1930s and 2010s and the Big Depression

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

universeBeginning of this week I have written a post about the bigger picture and a more global use of astrology to explore the major changes in society we are facing. Today I want to give you the chance to read a newsletter of Bill Herbst I enjoyed about his astrological point of view for the next 10 years. He looks at the outer planets constellations with the T square I have been talking about as well as the Grand Square in relation to the chart of the US and compares the 1930s to 2010s and the Big Depression.

It is a little more technical then you are used to with my writing, but I think it gives a great overview. Consciousness is the key for change and alignment with what is happening. I believe strongly that this is what we all have signed up for. We incarnated to be part of a revolution of consciousness and we are in the middle of its unfolding. The much talked about raise in consciousness in the year 2012 is also just a part of the bigger picture. And my mission is to help you to deepen your understanding and find tools and ideas available for you to ease the transition into the new for you personally.

I am curious to hear back from you how you liked Bill’s article and what your thoughts are about those earth changes.

Enjoy and have fun, aloha and many blessings, Shakti.

The Potential of Brilliancy and Changes for the Good with New Moon, Mercury, Sun, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius

Monday, February 8th, 2010
Share Button

aquariusWe have some very special days coming up with a New Moon, the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Tiger starting, as well as St. Valentine’s Day ~celebrating love and connection.

In Western Astrology this week is all about the energies of Aquarius with five Planets in this innovative sign. If you remember the song from the musical Hair: “This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius”, you know that Aquarians are such original thinkers, revolutionaries and nonconformists that they reshape the world for the better. They are not interested in how things have always been, but in a world of freedom and equality for all. They always have their eye on the future, not on the past. The cultural revolution of the 1960s and 70s epitomized the Aquarian need to rebel against the established order and bring forth a new vision. I loved that musical as a child! It was somehow mysterious and uplifting, that was all I was caring about.

Aquarius is the elevens sign in the unfolding of the zodiac. It is thought of as masculine and representing the element air even if it is depicted as woman carrying water. That might seem weird at first glance. But Water is associated with nurturing, and Aquarians are fundamentally nurturing humanitarians, with a deep interest in and genuine concern for other people. They readily volunteer their time to service organizations of humanitarian interests because they truly care.

Get ready for a new orientation within your mind (Mercury), some impatience (Moon), and new ideas about who you could be in your highest potential (Sun), open for new healing technology or a new angle for your personal well being or healing (Chiron) and deepen your feelings of oneness and connection with life and others (Neptune). This is a handful to digest and obviously this will last longer then a week, just consider it as a kick off into a longer period of encountering the Aquarian Spirit inside of you. You can take advantage by aligning yourself consciously with this flow and find that rebel inside of you. Think about where your life has gone stagnant and needs some shaking up…These are the specific constellations for this week:

• Mercury sails into Aquarius with a quincunx to Jupiter
• Mercury opposition Mars
• Venus enters into Pisces
• New Moon in Aquarius
• Sun, Chiron and Neptune conjunction in Aquarius
• Moon in Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius

Uranus Rules Aquarius

Uranus rules Aquarius and, with Saturn, the 11th House (Friends & Vision) and enacts the Aquarian values and qualities in his outrageous, unrestrained ways. In the body Uranus rules the nervous system, mental disorders, and pituitary gland.

While of course order and balance are important in the world, the other side of that coin, change and evolution into greater love, freedom, and well-being for all, is just as important. Human society could not evolve and expand unless there are individuals who challenge the established order. We need them! Uranus is a progressive humanitarian and visionary who has no special respect for authority whatsoever; he exerts his will over authority in his idealistic quest for freedom, justice, and opportunity for weaker members of society.

Uranus is the opposite of Brother Saturn: where Saturn is concerned with limitations, Uranus rules our expansive, creative intelligence, calling us to inspired thought and action, and to uniqueness rather than conformity. Those qualities derive from our connection with the universal intelligence. Change is a keyword for Uranus, always change for the better, and the faster the better, toward an expanded life and the higher realms of consciousness. The Uranus principles describe our greatest leaders and role models.

As you can see, Uranus and Saturn make a strong couple and somehow belong together in their seemingly opposing roles.

The Big T-Square

It sounds a like the Big Bang and some people expect it to act a little like that. We are in the middle of some serious shaking up of the old which will continue throughout this year.

And of course our friend Uranus as well as Saturn is involved in the so called T-square which is much talked about in the astrological community because of its wide reaching implications for our present time of change. The opposition of Saturn with Uranus is happening five times between November 08 and July 2010 and is activated by a square with Pluto into the T-square 3 times between November 2009 and August 2010.

There is a global impact of all this which shows as a major cultural turning point, challenge and start into an unraveling of structures in our society we all have dreaded since the financial markets meltdown started and the economy started to fall apart on us. But there is also a very personal impact each one of us is facing as an individual and we are called to action with adjustments in our personal lives and this week is a good week to get more in alignment with it.

Mercury Sails into Aquarius with a Quincunx to Jupiter

Uranus and Aquarius are representing a very strong intellect, and intellect combined with ingenuity makes for great discoveries in the sciences and the most impressive artistic creations. But with Mercury settling into the very intellectual and detached sign of Aquarius we could end up with “turning into brilliant but cold blooded Mr. Spook” as astrologer Jeff Jawer put it. If it wouldn’t be for Jupiter’s optimism and the loving Venus making her new home in Pisces, we might get lost in the righteousness of the overall revolution and kill off our own children and bright future as it happened in the French Revolution which was ending in a big blood shed of everybody killing everybody.

Uranus is not for sissies and can get easily carried away thinking the end justifies the means.

Mercury in Aquarius in Opposition to Mars in Leo

The Mercury Mars opposition can fuel the impatience of the New Moon and make us more easily frustrated, irritated or angry then usual. But their connection also carries the potential of immediate action and implementation of new ideas. The solution can be found where Aquarius and Leo meet in the balance of the ego need for self gratification, applause and admiration of Leo with the integration of considering others, the bigger group, family, or society of Aquarius.

Venus Enters into Pisces

welcome the new yearVenus, the goddess of love is exalted in Pisces which means she feels quiet at home in the all encompassing, transcending sign of Pisces. Loving Venus smoothes the raw edges of the week with all the impatient Aquarian energy and helps us to keep an inner contact with what life really is about, our inner connection with all that is, life in all its forms. Venus in Pisces points us towards our vision and dreams of oneness and true love and that is the first necessary step to ever get there. I love this quote by Abraham-Hicks: “Sometimes people say, ‘Well, Abraham, shouldn’t I face reality?’ We say, no, you never do that! Never face reality unless it is perfect in every way.”

This is for sure different then what I have been brought up with. But think about it. Nothing ever has been created without the idea or vision first. Every house had a blueprint and architectural plan first before it was built. How can you expect to ever live a fuller, more satisfying life in any way if you don’t allow yourself to dream about it first and then take action steps towards it? The trick with the manifestation business is to keep your attention on the vision and not get hung up on the missing of the manifestation which has not happened yet. Be patient in the constant flow of unfolding and endless creation process you will never be done with. You might as well enjoy the journey and keep your eyes on the prize. And use any excuse to be happy and feel joy along the way.

New Moon in Aquarius

The New Moon each month is traditionally a magical time when the old ends and the new is ready to emerge. It is a time to go inside and take a look back at your month and how it has been for you and from your realization to envision your next month cycle. I think of the New Moon space a little like the New Year resolutions. The New Moon is on Saturday and you might be able to make the time to sit with your journal and do your inner work. Write down your wishes and where you want to go, have or achieve this coming month. Be specific.

When I do vision work I use a crystal to store my visions into and keep it on my altar or I meditate with the stone. It works as an anchor, multiplies and strengthens the energy of my visions and keeps me more focused and grounded with it. If you like to read up on exactly how to use crystal quartz for manifesting your dreams I have written a whole article you can find on my website about that.

The New Moon in Aquarius might make us more impatient then usual. My natal Moon is in Aquarius so I will be especially in tune with this New Moon. I am planning accordingly and will have time with my girl friends doing some fun stuff together. We will go dancing and then have a spa day with infra red sauna, steam and hot tub, just the thing to do with your heart sisters.

Cleansing and preparing yourself physically as well as emotionally and psychically honors the spirit of the New Moon.

Sun, Chiron and Neptune Conjunction in Aquarius

This conjunction widens our horizon again to include others into our considerations, feeling part of something bigger then our own little individuality and ego. We can find satisfaction and fulfillment in being a useful and contributing member of the circle of friends we move in, the people we work with, or society. We can heal the estrangement and anxieties we might have with groups and learn to relate to our community in a new way.

Chiron – Neptune and Lessons of Self-Defense

Thursday, July 16th, 2009
Share Button

I have written about the Chiron – Neptune – Jupiter conjunction and shared my thoughts about it.
Today I like to show you this article of Victoria (living in Greece) about the Chiron – Neptune – Jupiter conjunction with you as a different perspective. I agree with her that this is a major astrological event accompanying us throughout the year. And because of that it is definitely valuable to gather some different points of view.

My way of using astrology is to look with my astrological glasses at what is and then use that to find the highest possibility in the potential of that time quality of that moment. Becoming more aware and in tune with what the potential of that event is, gives us a choice and conscious intention for our own alignment! Aloha and many blessings, Shakti.

“One of the biggest astrological events of 2009 is the triple conjunction of Chiron and Neptune with Jupiter that  culminated by the end of May when all three planets  were within 1 degree of each other in Aquarius. Although the exact conjunction won’t occur until February 17, 2010, Chiron and Neptune are within a degree of a conjunction now.

Chiron teaches us to face the old wounds of our past and allow ourselves to be healed, because Chiron is the planet that rules the alternative therapies and our most mysterious side of ourselves, opening us up to greater wisdom and understanding that we can then pass along to others. Neptune inspires us to  experience  our lives and encourages us to recognize  life’s mysteries. However, each one of those planets have a darker side  that can arise. The great teacher, allow us to track down  the deep wounds of our soul,to heal them and now in August is calling us  to be focused into our inner selves,to listen our needs and satisfy them.

If we resist to Chiron s experience we can  stuck in our own wounds, we will  be unable to see and we will never let them go. If we resist  to the Neptune experience we can feel confused or become deluded by our fantasies and illusions.

Ego is hard to be expressed by both Neptune and Chiron. This period the  important significance Conjunction  with Neptune  a greater focus in atomicism and the aim. So, instead of looking for an excuse in others  attitudes and behavior or to any external factors to justify our own  behavior, let’s be receptive to his calling ,take out our misery and the comfortable role of the unfair one and let s get prepared  for changes  in the way of our thinking or even better to change the way we live.

In Aquarius ,things are more important, because  Aquarius is the sign that loves mankind but isn’t so crazy about people as individuals, separately.  Aquarius, in technology and innovation will be  used to perfect the human beings.

Because of  Aquarian transitional attitude, it is not the  best for emotional processing  which  is required by Chiron. Scorpio will delve deep into depression and excavate the psychological wisdom , Chiron in Aquarius may instead retreat into a world of technology where life is more easily managed and our emotional world will be  less compelling. The result of this can be  loneliness and isolation that is not easily rectified. On the other hand, there is also a brilliant innovation at work under the influence of Aquarius, and Chiron in Aquarius can bring  new and unique healing modalities that  will bring  wisdom  and new ideas . Aquarius is doubly ruled by Saturn and Uranus, and Chiron is the bridge between them so with Chiron in Aquarius we have ,a link between form (Saturn) and trans-formation (Uranus).

In the conjunction, sometimes  we can get the best because of the planets involved and sometimes their  difficult faces, depending on how we approach them and how they affect us. With Chiron and Neptune co-operating together, we are being called to taste our  deeper and spiritual inner selves ,to experience  life (Neptune) through feelings and release our  painful experiences (Chiron).

When Chiron and Neptune are working together, means that we work for our soul . They will  embrace of experiences that will assist us to explore ourselves in a deeper level , learn lessons that are presented to us so that we can release  past  painful experiences and move forward.

Chiron   will uncover the wounded places that have been left unresolved  or broken so that we can be freed from  the blocked energy that is being hold in the body, mind and spirit system. Neptune will reminding us that we can experience what lies beyond the boundaries of this material world. Under his influence we will be more open up to experiences of a mystical nature, otherwise  we become confused and deluded. Neptune bestows spiritual connection to our inner self as the physical world is transcended, or it can cause to us  addictive behavior in our  effort to escape from this procedure.

I see that the massive epidemic  we have  seen in the spring of 2009 as Chiron and Neptune approached their exact conjunction is the result of the conjunction to take us into a  darker turn of our the personal lives of many people. Chiron is already a challenge to us, and Neptune  to evaluate our experiences with  rational thought. We like to think of Jupiter as a great benefactor, but it is also the great liberator and expands whatever it comes into contact with, so when Jupiter  with Chiron will expose  our potential to heal our wounds and  abandon our sensitivity under Neptune s influence.

We can see it although for a great chance for tremendous spiritual growth and insight. The process of our spiritual evolution is enough to step confidently through the  dark side of our soul, which  may be a necessity over the next couple of months. Jupiter and Neptune expands our potential for creativity ,gives  inspiration ,guidance and  which is really up to us to listen of this. Jupiter in Aquarius is humanistic and altruistic, and there is a strong focus on Change, for the world we live! Read more

“I have met the future of the Internet, and trust me, it’s very, very cool”

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

My friend Arjuna is a very well known author in the field of spirituality and awakening consciousness. I have his books The Translucent Revolution and Awakening into Oneness in my treasure chest, they are wonderful! He also is a very gifted seminar leader and guide to help people with their individual process of waking up to their true potential. If you ever have a chance to participate in one of his events I urge you to give yourself the treat.

Today I got an article he launched on his blog and I think you should have the chance to read it. It is about the future of the internet and the role it plays in our connectedness and growing state of consciousness into oneness.I hope you enjoy this and have a wonderful weekend!

“I have met the future of the Internet, and trust me, it’s very, very cool.

The way that you recognize a particularly cool idea is that as soon as you hear it you wonder how you could ever have lived without it. Believe it or not fifteen years ago nobody had email. What? Yes, it’s true. When I tell my kids that, they stare at the ceiling, wondering when their dad is going to stop making stuff up. No email? How could anyone possibly live without email? That’s like… living without a cell phone or a computer. Don’t be an idiot, dad.

Just imagine, if you wanted to get a message to somebody you had to phone them, which could be quite costly if it is long distance. Or imagine this: type or write a letter, put it in an envelope, and mail it with a stamp. Remember those?

So that’s the thing about a really good idea; once you hear it, once you get it, once you integrate it, you wonder how you could have ever lived without it.

Like I said, I’ve met the future of the Internet. And once you hear it, once you get it, once it starts to flow in your veins, the only questions that remains is, how could we have ever lived without it? The future of the Internet lives just North of San Francisco in Marin County. He’s forty-eight years old, wears wire- rimmed spectacles, drives a BMW and his name is Brooks Cole. Brooks is one of those people who doesn’t just think outside the box now and then. He’s taken the entire box apart and through some mixture of origami and voodoo and turned it into a paper swan.

The current state of the Internet is dominated by searches that create lists. For example, if you want a restaurant in LA, typing in the search string “restaurants + Los Angeles” will bring up nearly 10 million results, all neatly arranged into one million pages. Sixty-seven percent of people who do a web-search like this never look past the first page. But the things that is most ridiculous thing about this process, which becomes obvious as soon as you are introduced to an alternative, is that everybody gets the same results. A business man visiting from Tokyo, a truck driver passing through from San Diego North on I-5, a teenage taking his girlfriend out before a movie, they are all going to get the same results for “restaurant + Los Angeles.”

Life itself is not like that. If I want to go out to eat in Los Angeles, I am going to call my friend Tinker Lindsey, who I have known for thirty-five years, and lives in Hollywood. She knows me, knows what I like to eat, knows my budget, knows that my diet is pretty healthy, and she knows the kind of person that I am. If I call her and say, “I need a place to eat in Los Angeles,” she is going to come right back and say, “Arjuna, I know the perfect place. It might be a bit of a drive, but you’ve just got to go to Pietro’s, in Santa Monica. It is so you.” She might come up with two or three backup suggestions, but almost certainly those suggestions will be appropriate and relevant to me. The difference between search results and the recommendation of a friend is that your friend relies upon countless pieces of information about you—in this case gathered over thirty-five years—to predict, with accuracy, what will please you.

Brooks Cole, with his partner and self-taught mathematical savant Dave Fisk, has invented an algorithm whereby the “Holo Discovery Engine” keeps a privacy-protected profile of you, which allows it to make intelligent and relevant suggestions, instead of generating irrelevant, impersonal lists. But that is just the beginning. The other break-through which Brooks has innovated, and which also, once recognized, leaves you intolerant of anything less, is that it breaks free of the constraints of closed pages.

I don’t know if you have ever noticed this, but life itself is not constrained to pages. Wherever you are right now, notice that you are hearing sounds, notice that you can see the colors and textures and movements. Can you turn the page on all that? If you look far enough to the left do you get to the edge of the page? Of course not. Life is a continuum, a process of discovery where everything is connected to everything else. So whatever you focus on becomes the center of your universe in that moment, and invites you to further exploration. Holo’s user interface, which is not just a browser, but a cross-device interface that can work on any platform, allows you to move seamlessly from one point of reference to another without ever having to change the page. Just like life. Listening to Norwegian Wood by The Beatles, for example, might lead you to explore other songs on that album, other songs by The Beatles, or other songs that made it to the top ten in 1965. It might lead you to movies with that song on its soundtrack, or to other artists who had also recorded that song. Or —in a web of interconnection which defies logic but mimics human intelligence—it might lead you to other things that have the same atmosphere or quality.

Brooks’s algorithm is the closest thing that artificial intelligence has come to so far in the direction of true “bio-mimicry.” It works the same way that the brain does, by creating significance, meaning and relevance out of seemingly discordant pieces of information. And this is where the future of technology becomes not just cool, not just efficient, but actually translucent.“  read more

COSMIC SENSE: Our Unconscious Connection to the Universe, by Marguerite Manning

Today I want to introduce a new friend and colleague of mine. Marguerite is a published astrology author who has written a book about the karmic dimensions in your chart and reveals the potential growth for the soul.

“Wouldn’t you agree that not a day goes by that each and every one of us isn’t forced to rely on that one thing everyone says we were born with-good old common sense? Well, I believe that we were all born with something even more important, something each and every one of us should be relying on a lot more than we do-our twice as good, and even older, cosmic sense.

It’s true. While common sense is the good judgment we’ve learned to develop by living in this practical world, cosmic sense is the incredible insight our soul couldn’t help but develop while struggling to evolve in the spiritual one. Think of it as that remarkable sense of deeper understanding that only comes to us through our higher awareness. When we use it, we’re able to make sense of the cosmos and our place in it because when we apply it, we’re actually taking our common sensibilities to the next level. The highest level. Our spiritual level. The only level that gives us direct human access to all the universal know-how that we could possibly need to fulfill our earthly destiny. Why? Because it’s the same level of hard-earned spiritual savvy that’s now available to our soul for fulfilling it’s own chosen universal purpose. Yes, chosen, because based on the wisdom of our ancient astrologers (who, fortunately for us, had enough cosmic sense of their own) “by choice” is exactly how we humans come into this earthly existence. What’s more, because our soul does the actual choosing before we do, that’s exactly why those choices are celestially reflected in the astrological energies of our own natal sky once we get here. This is to remind our unconscious soul of its earthly purpose by bringing every one of those choices into our conscious awareness. Not a moment too soon, either, because with our very first human breath they become our earthly promises, the ones that we were literally born under so that our soul could be physically born into. Good to know, especially since, in this particular lifetime, we’re the ones who have to live up them.

Is it any wonder then why the ancients proclaimed that our destiny was “written in the stars”? Universally speaking it is, but only because astrologically speaking (or, by applying your cosmic sense) that’s precisely what the energies in our natal sky reflect: our very own universal endorsement to be great and shine bright in this lifetime. Really. But that’s only if our soul keeps it’s cosmic commitment to aim higher and do better than it did in the last one. So, yes, of course, our birth energies reveal just how and where we’re destined to succeed down here in the material world. What they’re really up there illuminating is our soul’s promise to evolve in the spiritual one. If our soul makes good on its commitment, the universe makes good on its endorsement. Evidently, our fate here on terra firma is a lot less predetermined than we’ve been led to believe because when we view our natal sky from this perspective it’s a lot more than just a celestial reflection of our earthly destiny. It’s a universal documentation of the agreement we made to live up to it. An agreement the ancients called a horoscope, but based on their scientific principles I prefer to call our very own “contract with the universe.”read more…

How to Find Peace in a World of Chaos

Today I want to share with you an article from my friend Aurora Juliana Ariel. She is the author of the book, Earth 2012: The Ultimate Quest, How To Find Peace in a World of Chaos….

Having commented on the astrological aspects of the fundamental changes awaiting us in my last post about the Jupiter, Neptune, Chiron conjunction I thought you might enjoy another perspective onto it.

There are many ways to deal with the daily challenges in the rapidly changing world around us. I like Aurora’s approach of cleaning up our own unconscious structures as a way to feel peace and balance in these challenging times.

“How to Find Peace in a World of Chaos by Aurora Juliana Ariel

Traversing the Planetary Dilemma

We are on a prophetic journey that is affecting every person on earth—the outcome of which remains to be seen. Many prophecies are coming true as we enter what has been called the End Times. The earth has begun to go through many devastating changes that were foretold if humanity did not change its ways. Archaic structures are being broken down creating a scary dilemma for earth citizens, as everything that was once held dear could be lost in these coming times. Even the densest of human consciousness has been penetrated with the awareness that the world is in chaos and that mounting dangers to our way of life is affecting us all.

We must wake up, for our unconsciousness has gone on too long. We are destroying our planet and are living out of shaky systems based on human greed, and these are about to collapse. It is time to move into a new world, one based on unity, harmony, and peace. If we fail to make the important changes the times are calling for, we could face increasing struggle and calamity on a grand scale. Holding to Inner Peace is essential for the times ahead, and yet, for many, quelling the fear that is bringing worry and concern is challenging in itself. Sometimes it is darkest before the dawn. This is the legacy of our current time.”

Aloha and many blessings, Shakti.
