The New Moon and Full Moon events are often thought as almost magical points in the evolution of the Moon throughout the month. Depending on their position in the zodiac sign they shed a specific light onto inner processes and give us a potentially different perspective. While the New Moon is the conclusion of one circle of energy it also opens up a new chapter.

With the Full Moon that new theme is fully exposed in the full light and moves towards the conclusion in the next New Moon. It is a beautiful dance of birthing, ripening and integration.

New Moon in Virgo September 8

And of course Full Moon and New Moon are always in opposing signs. The last Full Moon was in Pisces with an invitation to deepen our inner connection with the divine and strengthen our spiritual roots as well as confronting health issues, mysterious illnesses bases on toxicity and poison. Now with the New Moon in Virgo we are asked to come to a conclusion with the balance of the mundane and the spiritual in our lives. There is the need to use the logical mind of Virgo which is so finely tuned to details and skillful functioning in the physical world. It is important to find your place in the bigger scheme of things and contribute with your unique gifts only you have to share.

Virgo is very generous as a healer and good friend and feels best sharing his skills. A good time to ask yourself the questions:

•    What is my specific gift?
•    Am I generous with myself and others?
•    How do I contribute to life?
•    Where could I use more order in my life?
•    Do I have unfinished business I need to tend to?

If you read my article about the Full Moon in Pisces you remember the case I made to take responsibility for your own health into your own hands. This theme continues with the Sun and Mercury still in Virgo. Mercury is staying for almost 2 month in this health conscious sign instead of the usual 3 to 4 weeks.

The trine of this New Moon with Pluto in Capricorn helps you to see yourself clearer and inspires to take more responsibility for your body, the temple of the soul.

Retrograde Mercury Turning Direct Again September 12

The mythic messenger of the gods helps you to become more aware and conscious about your present condition and empowers you to make decisions and take appropriate action towards that goal. Sometimes you might feel overwhelmed by the magnitude of your goal and feel paralyzed to even get started. The trick is to chunk it down into smaller pieces and reward yourself along the way. If you already enjoy the process you don’t have to wait till the elusive reaching of the finishing line to feel good.

Loosing Weight with Virgo is Easier

For example if you want to loose weight, that is a big and often intimidating goal and often we do not believe that we are actually able to pull it off. You might have tried all kinds of diets or even fasting with no lasting results. Some of my middle age girl friends have given up and pacify themselves with saying it is all menopausal. Maybe what you need is a whole different and fresh approach? Maybe the hormones are only part of the picture? Maybe you have just accumulated so much toxicity in your body over the years that it shows up in middle age or even earlier?

If you want to loose weight and chunk it down into smaller pieces you might end up with a plan that says:

•    Educate yourself about the underlying causes for gaining weight (like storing toxins in your fat to keep the body functioning) I recommend Dr. Sherry Rogers books.
•    Determine your blood type and find out which is in general the appropriate and healthy diet for you (Blood Type Diet)
•    Check out your vitamin and mineral levels and determine your deficiencies (Metamatrix.com)
•    Check out your burden of heavy metals
•    Refrain from any kind of processed food for a month and see how you feel
•    Eat more raw fruits, vegetables, sea weeds and cooked whole grains
•    Half your sugar intake, use raw agave or honey instead
•    Acquire an Infra Red Sauna, speed up your metabolism to get toxins out and loose your fat layers
•    Do a regiment of colon cleanses or daily coffee enemas
•    Find a way to exercise in a way you actually like doing. Join a dance class, go for walks with your friends or your dog; find something that actually works for you.

Obviously this list can go on and on. I just want to inspire you to make your own and get started. After a while the momentum will carry you and you will feel so good that you will be more then motivated to keep it going. If you choose to reward yourself along the way you will enjoy the process even more. You could go and get a massage or do a little shopping and find something to beautify yourself and feel really good.

Jupiter Back into Pisces September 8

Also Jupiter backs into Pisces a few hours after the New Moon and will be there until January 2011, staying within 3 degrees of Uranus in Pisces. Optimistic Jupiter represents faith, expansion, wisdom and abundance but can go overboard into hubris and extravagance. Jupiter in Pisces invites us for deeper introspection into the hidden non physical realms, the more subtle dimensions shaping life. Thoughts are also non physical to begin with but they shape your life and become manifested into the physical realm.

You can find deep fulfillment and joy with this constellation if you allow yourself to slow down and find time to smell the roses, meditate and sit with a cup of tea and contemplate.

Venus Dives into Scorpio September 8

With Saturn in the relationship sign Libra we already have to take a deeper look at the dynamics in our relationships. With Venus now moving into Scorpio we might encounter some hidden layers of our needs and instinctual drive for survival, sex and power. Maybe somebody tries to dominate you or an overdue relationship resolves itself. Scorpio always forces us to be honest at least with ourselves about our true motivation of doing things.

The goddess of love asks you to be very honest about your primary relationship as well as your friends in general. When Mars is joining Venus in Scorpio next week there might be some fire works to deal with.

I believe it is crucial to discriminate with wisdom what you can impact and change in the part of the world that is within your reach. I am on the road traveling in Phoenix under radiant blue sky. It is hot, hot with temperatures around a 100 degree Fahrenheit. When we go outside it is like walking into a sauna. We are staying in Flagstaff and I am having a ball with all the nice restaurants, malls, museums and the nice architecture.

A Full Moon

A Full Moon is receiving the full light radiance from the Sun and gives you a chance to become deeply conscious of usually more hidden areas in your lives. The Sun represents life force and consciousness and the Moon the emotions and deeply hidden feelings. A Full Moon is a magical time and turning point before the fullness starts to loose force moving towards the New Moon. You can use this moment in time for your own magic in creating the life you desire. Let me ask you:

What is most important for you in your life? Is it you, living your love with family and friends? Is it your spiritual growth? Is it success and wealth? Is it having time for adventures and fun? Or is it your health?

When you start thinking about it you can appreciate how all these areas of your life are interconnected. To me it seems that when I have health I have a better chance to deal and create satisfying results in all the other areas. Of course you can be spiritually fulfilled and live a life from the high frequency of love and feel pretty good with that. But if your body is in pain and not in balance, all the other areas will not show up as full and gratifying as they could be.

Last week with the Neptune opposition to the Sun and Mercury starting his retrograde mission we got started on observing our health needs. This theme is deepened throughout this month with Sun in Virgo the classical health sign with attention to details of nutrition and health issues. Also the Full Moon in Pisces, home to Neptune is the complementing opposing sign to Virgo and needs to be integrated for full spiritual and physical health.

Alignment with the Stars

Throughout the year there are special times to do specific things and turn your attention to for more success and fulfillment. Each month the Sun is in a different sign, the Moon moves through the whole zodiac waxing and waning between Full Moon and New Moon and there are all the additional other planetary positions in the heavens to consider. Some planets are faster then others who might be impacting us for longer periods of time like Saturn and the outer planets. With the help of astrology you can be more aware of the time quality and become more aligned with the universal laws governing the cosmos. Let us have a look at Pisces.

Neptune at Home in Pisces

Pisces is the last sign in the unfolding of the zodiac and is ruled by Neptune. It is a sign where the physical is transcended. Neptune is thought as the Roman god of the sea (Greek Poseidon) and is associated with many non-material, sometimes nebulous and transcendent principles. It relates to religion and spirituality, fantasy, imagination, creativity in art and music, idealism, compassion, love, higher states of consciousness, our connection to the divine, mysticism, and the healing arts.

Neptune at its best supports our striving toward inspiration and insight, but its negative influence is associated with addiction, weakness, illusions, and deception. And it is also representing poison, drugs, toxins, gases, addictions, and degenerative, the life force diminishing influences we call diseases.

Full Moon in Pisces August 24

A Full Moon in Pisces might make you feel more vulnerable or fragile as usual. You might wake up from heavy dreaming activity in the middle of the night. You might feel moments of deep love, compassion and oneness. Experiences of ecstasy and bliss belong here.

Pisces knows about the interconnectedness of all life and dimensions. Pisces understands that our individual personality is just skin deep and just a momentary expression in the world of form. Our soul is eternal and a part of the whole.

But the spiritual connection of Pisces needs to be anchored into the physical world and that is the chore of the opposing sign Virgo. Virgo is ruled by Mercury and is very much matter of fact and practical in analyzing the world and adjusting accordingly. Virgo uses logic, recognizes what is working and what is not.

I like to inspire you this month to use those underlying qualities and have a discerning look into your health.

Many Challenges for Your Health

The other day I saw this documentary on a German channel about plastics. I was interested to see how much information and awareness about the health damaging properties of phthalates (plasticizer) is made public and if they have anything to offer in the way of solutions. I was very disappointed about the report but not surprised. They did point out the severity of the situation for all life forms on the planet, but besides the recommendation to take recycling more serious and changing our long term production to biodegradable plastics there were no real suggestions given concerning our individual situation and how we can deal with it.

In the film they showed how much of all the plastics we use in every area of our lives end up in the oceans. There are islands of plastic waste piling up and just keep circling around. The plastic does not really break down but into smaller pieces which are additionally loaded with other chemicals like DDT and pesticides. These smaller particles are eaten by fish and birds and end up in your stomachs. But that is not the only way that stuff is ending up in your system.

Plastics are everywhere. We package our foods with plastic covers on Styrofoam trays or plastic containers, we drink from plastic water or soda bottles; everything is leaching out and accumulating in our system. It slowly stockpiles over a life time and has been proven to be the culprit in many fatal diseases. The chemistry of phthalates resembles that of many hormones especially estrogens. Those fake estrogens occupy the bodily receptor stations for our natural, hormones like testosterone, estrogen and progesterone and screw up the whole system. In the film they talked about an epidemic of sterile men because of the overload of fake estrogens as well as babies been born with genital deformities.

The point is besides the plastics and pesticides the list goes on and on to non-biodegradable detergents, dioxins, PCBs, DDT and others we do not even know how to spell. All these are widely distributed and totally unavoidable in day to day’s life and they wreak havoc with our hormonal systems, accelerate aging and trigger cancer and many other diseases. Pretty bleak, huh?

There is Hope and Something You Can Do

Astrologically poison and toxins are attributed to Pisces and are at the bottom of many mysterious diseases and unexplainable pain. This month is a great time for you to get started on your own personal detox program with Mercury and Sun in Virgo and the Full Moon in Pisces. Start with educating yourself.

According to my favorite author on the subject Sherry Rogers, MD there are two underlying causes for any disease: toxicity and deficient nutrition. Having found her own way through a life threatening disease she has done extensive research and published numerous books on different health subjects. I love her work and think she is really a big blessing with her efforts and contribution to reformation of regular medicine. Our health system is mainly driven by big drug corporations pushing poisonous drugs to manage diseases (And create new ones with their side effects). Healing can only happen through finding the underlying causes and for that we have to take our health into our own hands.

I recommend starting with the book “Detoxify or Die” and moving on with “Wellness Against all Odds”. You can find more titles of hers on my Book Treasures page. She recommends extensive cleansing with Infra Red Sauna and coffee enema with specific tests and many supplements to support the process. Check her out and I believe you will find it very beneficial.

Yes, it takes time, effort and money but if you want to stay or become healthy there is no way around educating yourself and taking responsibility for your own health. But since nobody else will do it for you there is not really a choice.

As you can tell my heart is really in this. I see so much suffering and pain around me because of health issues. I think we can only win by taking our health into our own hands and act accordingly. I am on the sauna and enema program for 5 month now and I can report that my arthritis has gotten much better and my psoriasis spots have disappeared. I still have ways to go and have resigned myself that this is a long term effort to keep battling the odds to keep myself in shape as much as possible and support my own inner healing process. Finding balance and integration with two strong oppositions is the motto of this week.

Whenever we are dealing with oppositions it is helpful to think of the opposing planets as friends needing to grasp hands in the center of the horoscope wheel to come to some kind of balance. It is about finding the middle path as Buddha put it. With an opposition it is always about integration of the seemingly opposing forces. We need to find ways for them to make friends with each other for mutual growth. One astrological sign is always complemented by the opposing sign to its highest expression.

Jupiter Opposition Saturn

This week we have to come to terms with the rulers of optimism and pessimism Jupiter and Saturn. With Jupiter in charge of our beliefs, opinions and ideas all opposing the dominating Saturn who has the tendency to control and organize us more than we like, this is a week for introspection and trusting our own inner guidance. For that we need to feel comfortable with silence and have a way to tap into our inner connection to wisdom and sagacity. Meditation of any kind (I would count walking in nature as such), is helpful for introspective, deeper insights and inner guidance. It is the path to your inner creative well waiting for you to come and refresh yourself.

Sun Opposition Neptune

Neptune might blind our true vision with illusions and delusions but can also enhance our visionary depth and connection to the divine. In opposition with the Sun, the center of our conscious awareness and clarity Neptune is a potent possibility to link us to the divinity and guide us from a higher perspective.

Have you ever had that experience of total clarity what is required of you and where you need to go or what action to take? Whenever I have one of those moments of clairvoyance I feel exhilarated and so, in the divine flow; it is highly addictive because it is so pleasurable.

You Inner Guidance System

In my meditation this morning a memory popped into my mind. I remembered an event over 20 years ago happening in Germany with a clairvoyant card reader. In those days I loved to check out the different ways people would go about with their counseling sessions and it helped me a great deal to develop my own style of giving my astrological readings.

In those days I still had this fascination with knowing the future. I was already feeling the pull to leave Germany and wanted to get some more clarity around that. I asked her what she could tell me about that and where would be a good place for me to go. Her answer was very strong: “You will not leave Germany and all the good men for you are here in Germany.” Oops! That was not what I wanted to hear. I was single at that time and I was ready for a change in my life. I was looking for support for my inner longing to expand my life and leave cold Germany for at least part of the year. Little did I know what life had in store for me and I would end up on Maui, married now for 14 years.

But I did have an inkling, some kind of inner knowing, some inner tug for a different life style then I was currently having. When we are at cross roads in life we might find ourselves reaching for a higher perspective in a counseling session through tarot cards, astrology or maybe clairvoyance. In astrology we perceive that people coming to us often have strong transits activating their life themes.

When I start with a reading I always point out that if you only take 2 or 3 important thoughts home it has been valuable for you. I remind you that I am only your mirror to reflect your own inner truth and wisdom. Be aware where you resonate with what I am saying and use that as an entry to your own inner knowing. The use of astrology is so elegant because it allows you to step a little back from your identification with your structures and your personality. More inner freedom and insight will come out of that.

A good reading should deepen your access to your inner knowing and truth. You should feel clear and uplifted and empowered at the end of a session.

Magnets of Self-Fulfilling Prophecies

As far as future events are concerned we are creators of our own life. If we believe something to be happening for us the chances are pretty good that it will. Whenever a belief is charged with strong emotion it becomes very attractive and like a magnet. That strong emotion could be your excitement about your vision or your fear of something to happen. Both are strong emotions and when they are tied to an expectation there are very, very powerful attractors.

For example I had once a very upset client come to me who had been told that she would have an accident in autumn. Looking into her chart revealed a Uranus Mars transit. But putting it into the potential form of an accident it was doing a disservice to the client by setting a very powerful negative magnet.

As I see it we have all these different choices in any given moment and all those different potential futures may evolve out of it. Nothing is written in stone! That is why it is so powerful to know about the Law of Attraction and the Law of Allowing so we can be conscious and powerful creators of the life we desire.

As astrologers we have to be very conscious and artful to use the power of self- fulfilling prophesies for the best for our clients. We can set magnets with the highest potential inherent in the planetary qualities and configurations and thus open a pathway with conscious efforts to reach there. Consciousness is a powerful tool if used the right way.

Mercury Turns Retrograde in Virgo on August 20

This retrograde period will continue until September 12. We can look at all the possible trouble Mercury retrograde can bring or if we use our consciousness to help the underlying potential to bloom. The potential of Mercury in its own sign Virgo is plentiful.

The planet Mercury, being closest to the sun and having the smallest orbit, appears to move the fastest around the sun—its year is just 88 days long. In astrology Mercury is associated with our mind (intellect, curiosity), all forms of communication, information, science, youthfulness, and travel. Mercurial people are highly intelligent and they apply their intellect and curiosity to all that attracts their interest. They have a huge thirst for knowledge. They usually excel in speaking and writing. You can say Mercury describes our mental attitude, the way we are communicating and interacting with others.

Mercury retrograde in detail oriented Virgo can be a good time to reconnect with old friends, go back to finish old projects, clean up the garage and put your house into order. Maybe you want to put some fresh paint on the walls and throw old stuff out. I make a point in going through my closets and corners once a year and de-clutter. That always feels so good. And it is amazing how much useless crap is piling up in the duration of a year. Now would be the best time to do it. Put some energizing music on and go have fun with it.

But I also hate to just throw things away and contribute to the pile of waste we are struggling with on the planet. So I love to pass things along which have lost their usefulness for me. Twice a year I have a clothes swap party at my house where my girl friends descend with their bags of clothes, shoes, books and all kinds of stuff. We put it all into the middle of the room and then the merriment starts. Half naked women crawling all over piles of clothes trying things on, modeling for each other and having lots of fun slipping into each others skin. I think you get the picture.

Mars Venus Conjunction August 20

The same day that Mercury retrograde is starting, the God, Mars and his beloved Goddess, Venus are teaming up. While the energy in one area of our life might need more work and attention to flow, love, sensuality, beauty and sex is promised on the other side. It’s a good time to take some frivolous time off and go play with your partner, lover or friend. Take a long weekend and go somewhere and have some romance. If you are single go out, meet people and make yourself available for love and romance to happen in your life.

Venus and Mars are in Libra, the relationship sign which is promising a harmonious and deliciously sensual experience.

We had a Lunar Eclipse two weeks ago and we will have a Solar Eclipse on Sunday July 11 this week. The Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn was an invitation to renew our inner world of emotions through clarity of purpose, the willingness to feel our feelings, the need to be responsible and claim our personal power.

The Solar Eclipse in Cancer interrupts for a few minutes the energy flowing from the Sun towards the earth and with it we will experience an upgrade to our consciousness. You could imagine it like a restart on your computer which sometimes is needed to integrate new programs or files of information. There is some magic to new beginnings. Like the new light of every morning is promising a new day or the new birth of a baby entering this realm, both are holding a new potential of the un-manifested to be integrated into this physical world.

The Sun is symbolizing the highest consciousness in our universe and therefore in our chart. The Sun is sending life giving rays to our earth and in combination with water the Sun is the base of life on this planet as we know it. This Solar Eclipse is situated in Cancer, the home of the Moon, the Archetypal Mother who births, supports and protects life. A Solar Eclipse is always an extra powerful New Moon when the Moon is briefly covering the Suns radiation. Sun and Moon in conjunction is yin and yang melting into one circle.

Mother Earth and Father Sun

We had many challenging astrological windows of opportunities throughout the last few years heralding a profound change in consciousness on our planet. It becomes clearer to many people that only if this ruling species of humans is stepping to a higher level of consciousness, honoring oneness of all life and starts living from that place we will survive.

Mother Earth and Father Sun are coming together to give us another chance to shape up and attune to a higher level of consciousness. It is a grand window of opportunity towards global awakening. I love the book by Arjuna Ardagh called The Translucent Revolution where he shares his researches and interviews with many well known and unknown people and their inner processes partaking in that tidal wave of waking up to our full human potential. His other book Awakening into Oneness is another testimony to the process we are all partaking in and how we can help our brain to awake.

I was always amazed that we are only supposed to use around 5% of our brain according to scientific research. It made me curious: What kind of potential is lying dormant in the rest? And how can we jump start it? My personal quest guided me onto a spiritual journey where I gained experiences with meditation, different states of consciousness and deepened my inner connection to the divine guidance. For me meditation and Deeksha blessings have helped me to experience more grace in my life and has been my way to raise my consciousness and deepen my awareness of my divine nature. It has filled me with profound joy and gratitude.

Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn and Solar Eclipse in Cancer

Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn and Solar Eclipse in Cancer means emotions need to be tempered by clarity and purpose and conscious action fueled by inner emotional guidance. We need both for inner and outer balance. We need to use our mind as the tool it is meant to be to help us in the process of aligning with our inner divine guidance through our feelings. Spirituality and Joy

You can measure the level of your spiritual advancement by the level of joy you are able to feel on a constant base. Looking at it in reverse it means that every step towards more joy and happiness is another step in the spiritual journey you are on. Your conscious choice towards joy can become a daily practice. •    Is joy a priority in your life?
•    Do you believe that you deserve happiness?
•    Do you think you have to accomplish something before you can allow yourself to be happy? (That is me and the Germany way of thinking: “First the work and then the pleasure…”)
•    What would be your percentage on a scale of 1-100 of joyfulness right now?
•    What gives you joy?
•    What actions or situations accompany joy for you?
•    How could you deepen your experiences of joy?

Make Joy a Priority in Your Life

It is not selfish to make joy a priority! Happy people don’t make war, take advantage of others or are cruel and mean. Happy people support life, make choices that benefit the bigger whole and are part of the solution instead of the problem. Happy people are more able to focus on oneness and what connects us all instead on separation and fear. Taking care for your own happiness and joy means you can contribute to the world and lift consciousness.

Or as Marianne Williamson said “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. …as we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Astrological fireworks are stirring the pot of the collective psyche this week. There is the Sun moving into the sign of Cancer on June 21 with the Summer Solstice. There is a Lunar Eclipse on June 26 and there is a Grand Cross also called a Grand Square happening along with it.

I read a great quote in an article by Stephanie Austin which seems to cover it: “There’s good news and there’s bad news. The bad news: Civilization, as we know it is about to end. Now, the good news: civilization, as we know it, is about to end.” (Swami Beyondananda)

Deep Changes Awaiting Us

I believe that we as souls have chosen consciously to incarnate into these exciting times to be part of the most outrageous changes possible. As divine creators we chose this time to live new dreams on earth after millenniums of suffering in the old Darwinian paradigm of survival of the fittest. As newer research is pointing towards survival is actually more secured for individuals as well as communities in relations based on interdependency and mutual support. This does make a lot of sense of course, don’t you think?

I also believe that the changes we are facing are mainly originating in our collective consciousness and the individual realization of oneness with each other and all what is.

Many people nowadays have had enlightening moments and experiences which have changed their lives and their perspective. You can read the book by Arjuna Ardagh called the Translucent Revolution where he interviewed many “normal” people or “wise ones” we have heard about. This is not only happening to a few of us. Many spiritual teachers like Edgar Tolle, Abraham-Hicks or Byron Katie talk and teach about the changes in consciousness and how to tune in deeper and integrate them into daily life.

Collective Wake-up Calls

In the Oneness movement we perceive the year 2012 as a highly charged opportunity to enter a new area in human consciousness. Astrologically speaking this already has been starting more noticeable last year and continues with different astrological events while we are moving towards the year 2012.

We have been talking about different sign posts for that most recent development: the T-Square, Uranus and Jupiter moving into Aries, the five oppositions of Uranus and Saturn, Saturn moving into Libra, Pluto into Capricorn and the currently happening Grand Square including the Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn. You can find those articles through my search application in the side bar under the search terms.

Where do we go with all this? Is it good news or bad news for you? Usually we get into trouble when we get caught up in a place of resistance and suffering with what is. If we are able to ride the wave it is actually exhilarating and tremendously joyful. If you try to fight your way against the tide guess who is going to win out anyway?

So the questions of most interest are how can we as individuals prepare ourselves to go with the flow of the moment and keep our head above the tumultuous waters. And how can we be a force for good instead of part of the problem?

Astrology Is a Way to Raise Your Consciousness

I truly believe in good preparation. A hundred percent of preparation usually gives you excellent results if it concerns a speech you have to give, an article to write or any other project on the level of doing on the physical level of manifestation. But to truly achieve joyful contentment, unconditional love and true feelings of success we also need to consciously work on our state of consciousness. We need to raise our consciousness to higher levels in order to stay in the flow of creation and personal evolution. There is no standing still and remain happily ever after. Life is made up out of continuous change and impermanence.

Astrology is a very elegant way to pave the way for expanding your consciousness through a deeper understanding of the time quality of the moment, allowing you to use cosmic windows of opportunities and ride the wave joyously. If you are interested in astrology you are a person who is processing the world around you mentally for a deeper understanding of yourself and your surroundings. You like to ask unusual questions and you are open for answers coming from a field of knowledge and wisdom beyond the narrow main stream ideologies.

That is an excellent requisite for personal growth into unknown possibilities. You are more available for the universal intelligence to use you as a conduct to move along the collective consciousness. Your personal changes will impact the bigger picture and do change the world! This is your personal power! You can be the change you want to see in the world! Having said all this let us have a look at the above mentioned constellations:

Summer Solstice: Sun Moves into Cancer

June 21 or 22 depending on where you are on the planet marks the Summer Solstice and this is the longest day of the year. Most people in the Northern Hemisphere love this energetic time of year, when they can enjoy the light and the outdoors until late in the evening. Summer is at its high point and we feel nourished by life, full and energized and uplifted by the exposure to lots of sun energy.

Cancer is considered a feminine water sign. All life on Earth depends on water, and all land animals, including humans, are thought to have originated in the oceans. So Cancer is closely associated with giving life, and hence motherhood and a protected family environment.

The personality of Cancer people is fluid with a broad range of personal traits all based in the rich inner emotional landscape. Home and family are always an important theme for this sign, for both men and women. They make loving, protective parents and family values are highly important.

They are also very generous, giving people and often find ways to express their nurturing nature in the healing and caring professions. They tend to be ruled by their roller coaster of emotional ups and downs. They can also be quite artistic and make good artists, actors, and musicians.

There is a fullness and richness associated with Cancer. Sun and water together are essential to fuel life and make it even possible to thrive on this planet. Without neither of these energies there would be no life.

It is the time of the year to give and receive out of the abundance of life and creation. It is a good time to revel in the goodness of life and find ways to expand it in your personal expertise of self expression.

Capricorn Lunar Eclipse

On June 26 we have a Lunar Eclipse, which is a Full Moon covered up by the alignment of the Sun and earth in relation to the Moon. This happens every 6 month and interrupts the normal galactic cosmic flow of energy reaching us. It facilitates change and reconfiguration of consciousness big time. And it works on a very subconscious level beyond your conscious mind and screening system. Be open for some surprises this week and time coming. It sets the tone till the next Lunar Eclipse in half a year.

This Lunar Eclipse is very significant beyond the usual because it is so shortly after the Solstice and because of the involvement in the Big Square participated by Pluto, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter and Mercury, all within 5 degrees of the four cardinal points. (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) This will greatly intensify all the individual qualities and demands inherent in each sign and planet heralding a crucial turning point in human history.

I like the way Stephanie Austin describes it: “The Jupiter Uranus conjunction in Aries awakens, emboldens, and spurs us to see and do things differently. The Sun and Mercury in Cancer sensitize us to our real feelings and needs. The Moon and Pluto in Capricorn demand that we be responsible and claim our power, while Saturn in late Virgo drives us to focus on what is most necessary and feasible.” (Article in The Mountain Astrologer, issue 151)

Maybe it is all about a balance between your heart, integrating your mind and your emotions connecting deeper with your eternal, divine soul. For me it seems to be about trusting my own inner guidance system which leads me through good or bad feelings. Maybe it is all about trusting that guidance and learning to find relieve from bad feelings moment to moment. Life has a way of confronting us with areas we still have resistance and unresolved business. But we cannot really go wrong in this endless dance of an ever changing existence. We will never be done or finished with our process. So why not enjoy the ride?

I love the work of Abraham-Hicks who is such a force for good and helping so many people with realigning themselves and integrating higher consciousness into their daily life. Their book The Amazing Power of Intent is designed to help you with that reinvention of yourself and might be helpful for your process. And of course there is always your own inner connection with higher wisdom and consciousness available to you through tuning in with meditation and contemplation.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR!

This week Venus sets the tone with changing into the sign of extravagant, expressive Leo and a favorable aspect to Jupiter is enhancing her pleasurable intentions and personality. Also we have a tight conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus in the beginning of Aries starting a whole new round of evolution.

Venus the Goddess of Love and Beauty

Venus has been celebrated through the ages as the goddess in charge of love and relationships. She has been seen as the patroness of lovers and couples helping them to open their heart and allow it to flower. You can look at your ability to love unconditionally as a hint of where you are in your personal journey towards oneness and a higher state of consciousness.

So what Does Love Really Mean?

Is it just a feeling? Does it mean if I love somebody I have to like him really well and always?

Our family of origin usually has a way to put this to the test. How do you deal with your family, the love you have for them and the obstacles and disagreements? Like the situation in my family I am facing is that I love my brother but I detest his actions in the moment. What do you do with situations like that? Can you still stay in your heart?

If I love somebody from the other sex (if I am hetero) does that mean I have to be in a relationship or married to that person?

For me it was a big revelation in my twenties when I had fallen in love with this beautiful man I really wanted to be with. But it turned out he wasn’t in love with me the same way and that fact didn’t really make a dent into my feelings. I realized the first time in my life that loving a man does not necessarily mean I have to be in a relationship with him. So we embarked onto a deep friendship that has survived many years.

So obviously love does not have to take a certain form and might actually surprise us.

Love is a State of Consciousness

In my experience love is a state of consciousness where I feel in a state of oneness and not so limited by apparent differences. I recognize myself in the other. I feel uplifted, grateful, abundant, joyful, generous, at peace with what is, tolerant, respectful and appreciative towards that person in my life. In a way this is even better then being loved by somebody.

Somebody might adore and love you but if you don’t return the sentiment, it doesn’t do much for you right? But if you feel your love overflowing that is definitely a high. And of course it is pretty special to be able to experience the reciprocity and mirroring of love back to you.

Venus Enters Leo June 14

With Venus moving through a new zodiac sign around every 19 days we get a chance to experience different facets and aspects of our heart and the growing ability to love and connect with others. With Venus in Leo we might feel more self assured in social situations and care less about how much others like or love us.

As a child we are utterly dependent on our caretakers to love us and therefore take care for our survival. I think that is the reason why love which belongs ultimately to the heart chakra is so connected with deep seated anxious feelings of survival and therefore related to the first chakra as well. I was always amazed about the tremendous amount of pain I would feel breaking up with a boyfriend even after a relatively short time of being together. For me it seemed like that every separation was touching the ultimate pain of separation from God, but also from mother, my first big love, my first husband, or my brother.

With Venus in Leo we can feel pretty solid and stable within ourselves without being so dependent onto the reactions of the other as the object of our love out there. This month can be a time for you to open yourself for experiences of unconditional love and the power and fulfillment in that. The Venus in Leo is the queen who feels utterly in charge of her destiny. Of course she is worthy of love and admiration. Of course she deserves to be adored and deeply loved. Of course she is in the flow of love, generous and abundant. This Venus is playful and affectionate with others. She is showing up as the powerful, creative, sexy and loving mentor she can be.

Jupiter Uranus Conjunction in Aries

Jupiter and Uranus are within the first degree of Aries. The first degree of Aries has the strongest initiative and fiery energy to begin something anew and supports our discrimination and decision making focus, our fierce expression of will power and action steps towards our new destination. Both planets will start us into a new level of freedom and visions for a different way to live with each other on this planet. We are again presented with the theme of deep transformation as a society through the big T-Square between Uranus opposition Saturn squaring Pluto throughout the year. Change and transformation is in the air and truly needed.

As devastating and bad as the oil spill has been and rightly upsetting us, it seems it will also help towards a changed responsibility and hopefully a radical new attitude concerning our planet in peril. It seems like throughout history as humans we always needed a profound amount of pain and threatened survival to change and grow into higher levels of consciousness. We are living in exciting times and we can make a difference as individuals through our own process of waking up into a higher consciousness and a different way of action from that individual place of influence.

Jupiter is always concerned with the bigger picture and the deeper meaning and value of life. Uranus is the visionary and rebel who spearheads new evolution in consciousness and carries the potential of the New Man or Woman. Both planets in the first degree of volatile Aries might confront us with other severe and frightening events eventually stirring us towards a New World.

Venus in Trine to Jupiter Uranus Conjunction

And for your personal quest with Venus this month both planets will deliciously fuel your passion and joyful expansion of your heart. Unconditional loving from a true place of abundance and self love is the icing on the cake. Instead of gobbling it all down on your own, you can have a big party with your loved ones and share the sweetness and joy with your friends. Generosity is applied love in action. When we feel generous we feel rich and happy to share.

How about Generosity in Your Life?

Do you think you are generous? How do you see yourself?

Generosity and love can flow into two directions. You can apply it towards yourself and find ways to truly love yourself despite all the dark corners and wounds only you know about. You can work on yourself to find peace with the trauma and damage you might have experienced in your childhood. You can heal your inner wounds and grow through them. I have met amazing people who have become shining beacons of love and wisdom, coming out of tremendous trauma and drama in their childhood or later in life. Remember Nelson Mandela who is a shining example of the indestructible human spirit. It is truly amazing what the human spirit is capable off.

And you can let the love flow out into your life and touch people around you. Be generous with yourself, with your time and your skills. Share your wisdom, knowledge and expertise which are just your own unique brand of humanness. Find a way to volunteer and share and I promise you will feel magnificent!

This is a great month to deepen your ability to love unconditionally and see your own reflection consciously and appreciatively in others.  Keep your focus onto the appreciation of our oneness and sameness as humans and make your choices accordingly. We are living in extraordinary times and it is in your personal touch, in your power and your hands to make the world we are living into a little better place. I always will love the song by Jack Johnson and Ben Harper called: MY OWN TWO HANDS. Don’t miss it, it catches the energy of the moment.

It is Spring here but cold! I finally have managed to get to Germany in spite of Mercury retrograde and all the airline trouble in Europe with the volcano outbreak. I was lucky enough to get stuck at home instead of in an airport somewhere in the world! And I was able to change my ticket and here I am visiting friends and family and thoroughly enjoying myself.

Living on a beautiful, but small island like Maui I do feel the urge once a year to leave home and expose myself to the European pulse and culture. Since I am living here for so many years my appreciation for the Germany culture has grown and I must confess I sometimes miss it. Don’t get me wrong, I love my home on Maui! I live in a place where other people come for holidays and I wouldn’t want to change that for anything.

But I do feel sometimes my experiences are getting very narrow and that I need to expose myself to different ways of thinking and culture. Maybe I feel that way because I have the fortune to be so familiar with 2 cultures and totally different values, tastes and ways to live. But for example last time I was in Germany visiting a friend in Cologne where I used to live. We decided on Thursday to go to Paris over the weekend; took the train on Friday and arrived in Paris 4 hours later… I loved it! I was sitting in Paris on the sidewalk, sipping my 4 Euro cup of incredible good tasting coffee and bought myself a pair of glasses in Paris. How about that for a weekend?

Lots of Taurus

The Taurus Energy is very dominating in the moment with Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus. Venus is right at home in Taurus and the Moon is exalted which means it provides fertile ground for new growth and material comfort. The Sun is action oriented and helped by Mercury to think things through for success. All in all a very potent and result oriented mixture.

Highlights for this Week are:

• Mercury turning Direct on May 11
• New Moon in Taurus on May 13
• Moon Venus conjunction on May 16

Mercury Turning Direct

Usually when Mercury is retrograde we expect trouble with technology, contracts, communications and travels. This time the retrograde Mercury in Taurus kept us truly grounded in a figure of speaking. Thousands of people have been grounded on some foreign airports somewhere in the world because they could not continue their journey to Europe. Being in transit without a valid visa for the country they happened to be in, they had to stay for days in the airport. Not much fun!

Taurus is the sign which is concerned with the daily routine, the survival, the food and comforts. Being stranded like that reduces your field of experience just to food and where to sleep which could not have been too comfortable for the travelers. The comfort was definitely impacted, reduced to survival and waiting.

When Mercury turns direct we will feel more mobile and flexible again.

New Moon in Taurus

The New Moon is always a new start and lends its magic to us for meditating and setting the tone and focus for the coming month. Depending on the sign the New Moon is in that is the area in your life which should have your special attention and loving focus.

With all the Taurus energy going on anyway this is a perfect time for you to work a little magic with your economical status and adjust where needed. The Germany way of thinking is you only spend what you have and you also save from that for a rainy day, which is very Taurus like. Imagine if our governments would adhere to this rule, how the world would look like!

The Taurus Experiment of Budgeting

My invitation for you is to look at your numbers, write down all your must expenses and try to figure out the other regular money you spend for coffee latte, muffins and going to the movies, things like that. You know how much money is coming in each month if you are not self employed, so now you can work on a budget and assign the conscious use of your money.

Most of us have some inner resistance to face the music around money and really have a good look. It is easier to just swipe your credit card and not think about it. But I believe that personal financial self responsibility is the only way out of the crisis we all are facing on a global level. You need to know where you stand before you can decide or envision where to go. We can not complain about the economy, Wall Street and our government if we are living beyond our means as well. Change starts with each one of us. That is the power each one of us truly holds.

This abundantly practical energy of Taurus will help you to get your priorities straight and to be smart and cunning with your resources. Let yourself be supported by this signs down to earth way and practicable thinking.

Moon Venus Conjunction

For the weekend we have a very feminine and sensual alignment of energies with Moon and Venus in Taurus. A great constellation to take time with friends or your family, go to the beach, mountains or spa, make love with your significant one and enjoy yourself with your physical senses.

I will for sure do that enjoying familiar foods and spending time with loved ones.

We are having a quiet astrological week and I will use the lull to celebrate with you the one year anniversary of my blog: The Astrological Weather Report & Healing Gems.

Wow, that was quiet a ride this year; so many things to learn, so many ways to be challenged to grow. The technical problems and things to learn have been the most difficult for me. But I had good support with my webmaster I am very grateful for. I have managed to write 122 posts till today,  at least one every week and I am very proud of it.

Of course the format of the blog has changed over the year and has evolved in its own way and fashion. In the beginning I was leaning towards more basic astrological teachings; now it feels like the ground has been laid and there is all that information at your fingertips to find through the search option.
In the beginning I have written a lot about the Moon astrology because it is such an important way for understanding and becoming more conscious of our emotional inner tides. But over time things became very repetitive and I got bored. So I needed to change my writings so it would be joyful and interesting for myself again. Now you can always see the exact Moon position on the blog roll and just go back and find the article about the specific Moon position in the archive if you want.

Nowadays I am more interested to discuss the astrological highlights of the week to inspire you to contemplate their potential and stir you towards a life with deeper meaning, in a healthy body with a joyful spirit. I believe I have become a better writer in the process.

Here is the first article I launched my blog with on April 29th, 2009 and I still love it. This article has set the tone for my blog and the spirit of it. It has been written by my friend and editor Margaret Copeley, I have worked together with for so many years:

YOU ARE INDISPENSABLE TO THE UNIVERSE

“The most basic governing principles of the entire universe—and certainly of astrology—are that everything consists of energy and that it is all interconnected. From the tiniest subatomic particle to the largest star systems, all of the matter and energy in the universe belongs to one immense web of existence.

Every part of that web is essential to the whole. You could compare the universe to an ecosystem on earth: if you add or subtract a plant or animal, such as by altering the climate, eventually the entire ecosystem is affected. Or think of an atom: remove just one infinitesimal proton from an atom, and you have an entirely different substance. If hydrogen were changed to helium, the entire known universe would be profoundly changed. Everything is held in a delicate and exquisitely beautiful balance.

The principle of interrelatedness means that although you are only one of billions upon billions of energy beings in the universe, you are far from insignificant! The universe cannot do without you! If you were not here tomorrow, the echoes of your absence would reverberate out across the universe. Those closest to you would suffer your loss immediately. Your loved ones, coworkers, and the people you serve in your work are connected to dozens of other people, and they are in turn connected to hundreds, to thousands of others. This is not to mention your relationship to animals, to the natural environment, and so on.

If you doubt your importance, please stop reading this right now and make a list of 10 Ways I Impact the World. I guarantee you, you won’t want to stop at 10 ways and you will easily list 50 and even 100 ways that you impact the world. And then imagine all the repercussions of each way that you impact the world—all the ripples that are sent throughout the world because you are loving, caring, competent, devoted, or skilled.

Because you are here in this world, you have a chance to send out waves of joy, love, and comfort that will be transmitted from one place to another way beyond your imagination.

Because you are indispensable, it’s important that you make your mark on the universe by living a life that is rich and fulfilling, and that brings something of value to the world. That is your role as a Giver. But you are also meant to be a Receiver. Looking at the incredible world that has been given to you as your Earthly home, it’s clear that you are meant to partake in all the beauty and abundance in the world and to live a life based in joy and love and success.

That’s where the art and science of astrology comes in! The purpose of astrology is to help you gain a deep understanding of the workings of the world and your place in it—just where you are situated in this vast universal web of existence, how you relate to things as small as insects and as large as the planets, what unique role you are called to fulfill with your skills and talents, and how to maximize your success and happiness.

Astrology calls you to a path of learning and perfection. As you embark on that journey of discovery, you will soon feel that it fulfills the longing of your heart and soul for peace, wisdom, inspiration, and right action. So step up to the plate and take up your indispensable place in the universe! Never doubt for a second that you are a vital part of all that exists.”

New beginnings and reevaluating the old describes the theme of this week.

Before the New Moon we experience the darkest night of the month and with it the conclusion of one emotional circle of feeling our way through life. Watching the Moon slip through the whole zodiac in the duration of one month is a way to become more self conscious and in tune with ourselves, our needs and the emotions who often sit in the drivers seat without us knowing.

We are very much in tune with the stars and through our pineal gland we are influenced by the light of the waxing and waning Moon phases. On the physical level our sexual energy, the processes of aging as well as our sleep are regulated by this gland. I have read it described as the “cosmic GPS, locating our consciousness in time and space.”

With the new light coming in with the New Moon each month, we are promised a new beginning. I love new beginnings! I love my mornings the best when I wake up unencumbered yet by the former day and its problems, fresh energy at my disposal, new ideas popping into my mind while I am having my tea, starting my day. I have a fresh day right in front of me with time and the potential for anything.

New Moon in Aries on April 14

This New Moon is special because she is the first New Moon in the first sign of the zodiac, the Aries. This is the start of the evolution and unfolding of the astrological wheel and Aries promises a new start with spring time energy budding, life force expanding, passion shared and innocent spontaneity given. With the Sun still in Aries but getting ready to leave for Taurus, Aries energy will be over with the end of this week.

New Moon Square to January 15 Solar Eclipse

A square is always a challenge. We have to face some friction between the two principles involved and we are asked to face some decisions and potential changes. The New Moon square to the solar eclipse that happened in January in 25 degree Capricorn, invites us to face challenges with courage (Aries) and implement and own our own power and strength. It is interesting to look back three month to the time of the eclipse and see what you have faced at that time in your life and where it has brought you.

• Where do you need a leap of face right now in your life?
• Where do you need to have courage and step up to reach your most cherished dreams and hopes?
• What is inspiring for you right now in your life?

Chiron, the Wounded Healer as Your Facilitator

For me I am still in the process of cleaning and healing my body, the temple of my soul. I embarked on this journey in the beginning of the year. I made profound changes in my diet, for example I am not putting any processed food in my mouth. I am cooking grains with sea weeds, fresh vegetables, eat green salads and juice once a day. No sodas, no chips no nothing. I am missing the rice crackers. Talk about a life style change… And I am doing regular Far Infra Red Sauna and coffee enemas, yeah…you get used to it after you figured it out, it is actually quiet easy and fast. Both make me feel so good and that counts.

I was inspired to embark on my healing journey because of many health problems. Pain seems to be a very good motivation for all of us to move into new territory. We had so many planets in Pisces at the beginning of this year that I seemed to be guided into detoxification and healing on many levels of my life.

While Chiron was staying in Aquarius we were gifted with outrageously new technology for use in our healing process. Far Infra Red Saunas, cold lasers, crystal blankets and many new age technologies are available for home use and can make a big difference for you if you are suffering. I heard two years ago on a conference about the newest research in biology where they experiment with computer build organs grown from DNA for organ replacements. We are truly living in amazing times.

And now with Chiron moving into Pisces on April 19, he will be joining Jupiter and Uranus in this sign. Chiron, the universal healer brings in a new frequency for us to adapt to and use. The last time Chiron moved through Pisces was 1960-69 with a whole generation breaking with tradition, demonstrating for peace in Vietnam and civil rights and opening their consciousness with mind altering drugs. “Make Love – not War” was spearheading the longing for a more human approach to life and was feed by the inherent dimension of oneness in consciousness of all that is. Pisces in his highest expression is all about oneness, unconditional love and the transcendence of the physical, reaching for our non physical origin and God.

Drugs and Healing

Drugs also belong to Pisces, as a healing remedy as well as toxic and poisonous substances. My hope for this round of Chiron through Pisces is that we will be rethinking our whole approach to illness and disease. It is obvious that nowadays most doctors are not trained to look for possible causes of illnesses based in toxicity and nutrient imbalances but in prescribing drugs to treat symptoms. The prescribed drugs with all their side effects are adding to the toxic burden we are already enduring and this can only be a short term and very short sighted solution.

When your car has a red warning lamp going on you bring your car to the mechanic to find the problem. If the mechanic would just unscrew the light bulb and declares the problem solved, you would probable not be too happy with that solution and look for a new mechanic.

And yet we often resign ourselves to that approach concerning our health. One very well known homeopathic doctor, a client of mine in Germany told me that just taking people off their numerous drugs and detoxifying them slowly is over 50% of the healing process he has been facilitating for people. (Of course I am not suggesting to you here to go cold turkey on your medications!! You need to be smart about it and have an experienced health practitioner at your side.)

With all the studying I have done since the beginning of the year I have come across the macro biotic healing approach, Dr. Sherry Roger’s “Detoxify or Die” and the “Healing: The Gerson Way”. What they all have in common is that they promise solutions and recuperation from many life threatening, degenerative or chronic diseases. They are all based in programs of detoxification and nutritional balance to facilitate the healing process. And that means you need to read and educate yourself, you have to take your own health into your own hands and take action. There is no other way!

Mercury Turns Retrograde on April 4

Mercury takes his second retrograde this year at 12 degrees Taurus and with his back and forth he will be spending double then the usual time in this sign. Mercury will be turning direct on May 11.

I have written before about the intricacies of Mercury retrograde. I think of it as a time to reevaluate and rethink our strategies and directions in life. Depending on the sign Mercury is in that will be the area in your life to have that special look directed at. With the sign of Taurus we have a sign where it is all about the physical world, the body, finances, home and family and our own comfort. Being a Taurus myself I can only agree that beauty and comfort is extremely important to me. I have one of those super comfy recliners from a European brand so that it also looks nice. Mine is red!

And of course then there is the body! A happy soul resides more easily in a happy body that is fully functioning and not in pain. So maybe you take my rumblings today into your heart and start on a new journey towards greater health and happiness. Remember to set your intentions, become clear first and then take action steps towards them. Beginning of this week I have written a post about the bigger picture and a more global use of astrology to explore the major changes in society we are facing. Today I want to give you the chance to read a newsletter of Bill Herbst I enjoyed about his astrological point of view for the next 10 years. He looks at the outer planets constellations with the T square I have been talking about as well as the Grand Square in relation to the chart of the US and compares the 1930s to 2010s and the Big Depression.

It is a little more technical then you are used to with my writing, but I think it gives a great overview. Consciousness is the key for change and alignment with what is happening. I believe strongly that this is what we all have signed up for. We incarnated to be part of a revolution of consciousness and we are in the middle of its unfolding. The much talked about raise in consciousness in the year 2012 is also just a part of the bigger picture. And my mission is to help you to deepen your understanding and find tools and ideas available for you to ease the transition into the new for you personally.
